Network meeting with PWC

Are you right-handed? Then sign your name with your left hand. Try it one more time. You'll see how difficult and awkward it feels. That's how you should think when you go to a job interview: Be yourself!"

Svenska med baby had a rewarding networking event with Kinan Halal from the audit and consulting firm PWC. Kinan Halal, who came to Sweden a few years ago, gave a personal and engaging talk about how to come into your own during a job interview. The participants received many concrete tips and advice, including examples of common questions at job interviews:

  • What are your strengths and what areas would you need to develop?
  • How would people describe you?
  • More specific questions: Tell us about a project you have been responsible for.
  • Tell us about a time when you were part of a working group where you initially did not know any of the others.
  • Tell us about a time when you were responsible for a project and it involved problems and lack of time.

But the most obvious tip was the one already mentioned, that you have to be yourself. Nothing else will work, it will just be uncomfortable and not very successful. Be your best self, but be yourself.

The networking event was part of the Svenska med baby project for Ukrainians, funded by the European Social Fund, through the Swedish ESF Council.
